Software Engineer
Essential Job Functions
A successful candidate must have the ability to:
- Perform analysis, design, development, testing and
implementation of commercial systems applications using Oracle RDBMS and tools.
- Carry out performance tuning of Oracle applications in UNIX
and/or client-server environments.
- Perform maintenance, enhancements, testing and
implementation of production applications.
- Be an effective resource to client personnel and other
employees on the use of Oracle tools and products.
- Provide and update system application documentation as required.
- Perform other duties as required.
Required Qualifications
This should include experience of the following:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other
technical area; or equivalent work experience (eight to ten years) in analysis, design,
and development of computer applications using high-level languages.
- Minimum of 2 years programming experience.
- Minimum of 1 year design and development experience using
Oracle RDBMS and Oracle tools on a UNIX or NT platform.
- Minimum of 1 year experience using high-level 3GL language
(preferably C or COBOL).
- Experience in performance tuning of Oracle applications.
- Must have demonstrated positive customer service behaviors.
- Must be able to perform in a team-oriented environment and
work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proven organizational, planning and problem-solving skills.
- Possess effective interpersonal skills as well as written/oral
communication skills.
- Possess a valid driver's license and be able to travel.
Desired Qualifications
This should include experience of the any of
following:
- Oracle Designer tools. Development in a client-server
environment (UNIX/Windows).
- ODBC or other open architecture products.
- Oracle Stored Objects. Oracle database administration
- Performance tuning of Oracle RDBMS.
- PowerBuilder, Visual Basic, or other graphical user
interface.
- SQL Studio, Easy DBA, or other RDBMS interface tools.
- Microsoft FrontPage, or other Web site development tools.
- HTML, ActiveX, Java or other Internet/Intranet/Web
programming languages.
- Ability to effectively teach technical training courses.
